I live in Toronto and I have seen the Union Bus station undergo a lot of renovations in the past few years. They have spent a lot of money, around 100 Million dollars, and now it is one of the best Go Train stations in the city. The station is very clean, nice, and attractive. There are a lot of friendly staff members all over the station who are ready to help. The security personnel are also very polite and professional.
The entrance to the old bus terminal is closed and there are a lot of cars parked there of workers. It can be a bit confusing, but it is not as bad as some people have made it sound in their reviews.
