I had a terrible experience at MH & A. They violated my human rights and discriminated against me when I walked in with a cane. I asked for a social worker but didn't receive any help.
I have been to MH & A three times. The first time, they left me waiting in the emergency ward for 6 hours during a crisis. The second and third time, the nurses just kept us on a schedule and fed us. The doctor only came in once a day for a few minutes. I didn't get the support I needed.
As a mental health client for over twenty years, I have had my fair share of experiences with MH & A. In this community, they provide care but it can be hit or miss. Sometimes they will listen and provide support, but other times they are lacking. It could be improved.
