On Thursday, May 12, 2022 one of our neighbours suffered a medical emergency and we had to have police and ambulance attend. Sadly despite the best efforts of the paramedics our neighbour passed away. We were close to these neighbours and it was devastating. I must commend the RCMP as they were very compassionate and professional in dealing with the situation. They were respectful and understanding of our grief and did everything they could to support us. I am grateful for their presence and assistance during this difficult time.
Unfortunately, the Sooke RCMP seem to be a group of rape apologists. When I shared the story of the men who sexually assaulted me to help protect other women, they threatened to charge me with criminal harassment, despite the fact that I have evidence and witnesses. It's disheartening to see the lack of support for survivors of sexual assault from the RCMP.
