Sent my son to ER due to up and down fever and swollen tonsil. Fever at one point was 41.5 celcius or 106.7 F. We told the nurse that and nurse said nothing serious just viral infection. Fever that high can cause severe damage to his body and for her to say that its nothing serious is ridiculous.

Trip to the ER on a Saturday morning was a positive experience due mostly to Nurse Janice and ER doctor Dr. Davison. My partner was seen immediately after triage, hooked up to an IV within 30 minutes, and the pain from his kidney stone was relieved. The staff was attentive, caring, and knowledgeable. We are grateful for their prompt and effective care.

My life as I knew it came to a screeching halt on Monday, July 20th, 2022 as it was discovered that I had a Malignant Tumor in my colon and I had never been to Norfolk General for anything. My experience in the Emergency department wasn't great. The staff seemed overwhelmed and didn't provide clear information or support. It was a frightening experience that left me feeling even more scared and confused.
