We had a loved one released from the hospital today who depended on these services. We were skeptical that they would be able to show up by the time discharge was complete (discharge was at the end of the business day on a Friday). I showed up at Air Liquide in a daze while holding various hospital paperwork in hand, including the loaner oxygen tank they had issued him in plain sight in a very inconvenient wire cart to boot. I made my way to the counter, saline solution on my patient's wheelchair backpack bulk saline solution purchased at Walmart (FYI we own our own oxygen concentrator and our own oxygen tanks... Me trying to offer the proof that would otherwise make a delivery unnecessary). I told the story to a worker at the front counter at Air Liquide who (with a look of pity in his eyes) quickly turned to his computer and asked me for my patient's information. He then proceeded to inform me that he would happily issue a refund for the cost of the tank I had previously purchased (which I really didn't expect) and set us up for a delivery once he had our doctor's orders in hand.
